Chantal Cuer
Chantal Cuer is one of Europe's leading broadcasters and journalists. Her career has many facets, including lecturing, journalism, writing and presenting radio and television programmes, and chairing international conferences. Her career in France included a period as European correspondent for RMC - Radio Monte Carlo - and for RTL - Radio Television Luxembourg. She has also written extensively for French news magazines and newspapers. In Canada she has written and presented documentaries for CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) on politics, economics, the arts and religion. Chantal Cuer has extensive broadcast experience. She has been Editor of European programmes for BBC World Service. She was the first female and non-British presenter of a current-affairs programme, The World This Week for Channel 4, and she launched and presented After Dark also on Channel 4. She launched and presented The Europeans, an analysis of eastern and western Europe through the eyes of television for BBC2. She presented four documentaries for BBC2 on the French Revolution and presented live coverage of the Bicentenary celebrations from Paris. For eleven years she presented Telejournal, BBC2's weekly European news magazine as well as France Means Business, also on BBC2. Her radio and television work includes: Right To Reply (Channel 4), Frost on Sunday (BBC 1), Question Time (BBC 1), Did You See? (BBC 2), Eurofile, A Good Read, Quote Unquote, Pick of the Week (All Radio 4). She has chaired European Commission conferences such as "Training of Women in Information Technology" and "Employment and Unemployment in Europe". She has lectured for the Department of Trade and Industry offering guidance to businessmen on cultural differences throughout Europe. She has immense experience chairing and presenting at international conferences, covering business, political and cultural themes.
